And why should we leave? We were forced to do so once already. We’ve sacrificed enough. We must think of our brothers and sisters in hypersleep—the ones still aboard the Arks in orbit. They cannot speak for themselves, so we must speak for them. We are clearly superior to the humans in every way. They should be thanking us for what we’ve shared with them—our technology, our culture. It is time we asserted our rights. Earth is our destiny. Do not be swayed by this talk of integration. 5:35pm – Onulu Toruku, Votan Ambassador to the U.N. General Assembly, was shot three times by an unidentified assailant while leaving the United Nations building in New York. His status is unknown. Graphic images of the attack were broadcast live on television. Camera crews have been ordered to vacate the area. The suspect is at large. No further information is available.
 
5:48pm – Police have cordoned off the area in a five-block radius. Additional law enforcement personnel have been called in from neighboring boroughs. City Hall refuses to comment at this time, though a city-wide manhunt is underway. Ambassador Toruku’s condition remains unknown.
 
5:56pm – Video footage of the shooting has gone viral across the Internet. Police are urging local citizens to share any information they might have that could identify the assailant.
 
6:12pm – The Mayor has confirmed that Ambassador Toruku was rushed to Mt. Sinai Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition. Three Castithan men were arrested outside the building for assaulting the hospital’s security staff.

6:54pm – We have received cell phone video of a raid on an apartment in lower Manhattan. A single human male suspect was taken into custody.
 
7:03pm – We have received official confirmation that Onulu Toruku, the Votan Ambassador to the United Nations, died fifteen minutes ago.
 
7:14pm – Reports describe a large number of Votans gathering in Central Park. The Mayor is urging citizens to remain calm, though a number of police cars have been redirected toward the park for crowd control.
 
7:22pm – Numerous people who have seen video of the shooting are calling to claim that the suspect taken into custody is John Paul Bullock, an elevator maintenance worker from Brooklyn. The police will not confirm his identity and have taken the suspect to an undisclosed location.
 
7:36pm – Violence has erupted in Central Park between the Votans, first responders, and human bystanders. One eyewitness claims that police fired tear gas into the crowd and moved in to subdue them. The Chief of Police insists that the Votans instigated the violence. Reports are sketchy, though it’s believed at least 13 humans and Votans are dead.
 
7:48pm – The President has just issued a statement condemning the violence in Central Park and disavowing the assassin. The Votan delegation was just seen leaving the White House.
 
8:01pm – A large crowd of Votan rioters is marching on the United Nations building, torching cars along the way. All inbound traffic into Manhattan has been halted.
 
8:09pm – The National Guard has been mobilized to quell the violence in New York City. Reserves have been called to active duty. Scattered reports of vandalism, fires, and additional human-Votan clashes.
 
8:34pm – The President has declared martial law in the city of New York
